Universal Life Church

" When you wake up today to realize that the problem is still there, do not go back to sleep, do not cry. Take a warm bath and start planning for the unknown."

Universal Life Church

Amy,

It's really nice, comforting and timely to receive these periodic positive comments from you. Just this morning my computer was experiencing a failure. I tried several things to get it past the boot-up into Windows without success. With patience, I rebooted one more time and was off to the shower. After I finished, my desktop screen was full of all my icons and I was back in operation once again. Apparently my efforts to get it restarted did matter.

Your comments..."All the little things...that I don't think matter...do".

While the above example is not exactly what you meant, here is another.

A church member I drive each week to bible study and church expressed having some financial difficulty. Upon questioning, I took him around to try to get some payment schedule worked out and later to buy groceries for him. This individual is slightly challenged and extremely shy...works for a convenience store on the graveyard shift and has no family with him. He was homeless at one time in his life. His circumstances have beaten him down to a point where he will not engage in conversation nor make eye contact except upon rare occasion.

After working with the State Revenue Dept. and filing his taxes from 2010 for him, tax levies were released and he once again had access to his funds to pay his rent, phone etc. The very next time I picked him up to take him to bible study, he was a different person. He engaged many of us in conversation, he told a joke on himself, he became very much a social butterfly at the potluck afterwards. All in all a different person.

It took about a half day to get all this done for him. But in just that short amount of time, the release of some very heavy burdens opened up to us a personality we did not know we had in our congregation. He is now shadowing me as if I were his big brother just because I performed some "little things" for him.

It doesn't take much...just a few little things...
Blessings,
Bill
