Kind Words from a ULC Minister

Dear Rev. Amy Long,
Thank you for sending out the newsletter consistently since I signed up. Your words of inspiration have helped me through many tough times and I greatly appreciate them from the depths of my soul. I have since my ordination, with your words of encouragement, continued to climb through my Order's ranks and have learned so much during that time. I have done much in my career as a High Priest and all the while I have faced many challenges that life has thrown at me. Without your great encouragement I would not have remembered that I am truly divine, within and without. Thus, I wanted to give you a word of encouragement in return and let you know that you ARE making a difference for us out here that are fellow ministers of many faiths.

A miracle story

HELLO FAMILY OF GOD,
I WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU A MIRACLE THAT JUST HAPPENED TO ME...
I WAS AT WORK, RINGING UP A CUSTOMER, AND TWO OF THE OTHER EMPLOYEES WERE STANDING BY ME.
WHEN I FINISHED WITH THE CUSTOMER, BOTH OF THE EMPLOYEES , PAT AND COLIN LOOKED AND ME AND SAID, "HOW DID YOU DO THAT, WHAT WAS THAT, TELL US,"  I  LOOKED AT THEM AND SAID, 'I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, TELL ME".
THEY SAID THEY BOTH SAW THIS VAPOR OF SMOKE, LIKE A CLOUD COME OVER ME, AND THEN IT FADED AWAY.
AT FIRST I THOUGHT THEY WERE JOKING AROUND, BUT NO, THEY WERE BOTH VERY VERY SERIOUS, THEY BOTH SAW THE SAME THING.
AFTER THINKING ABOUT IT, AND THINKING OF WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS, I HAD THE ANSWER....I TOLD THEM IT WAS THE SUPERNATURAL MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, (THE SPIRIT OF GOD), (THE GLORY CLOUD) (THE GLORY OF GOD), I HAVE BEEN TALKING TO THEM BOTH ABOUT GOD FOR SOMETIME NOW, AND THIS WAS A SIGN FOR THEM, THAT GOD IS REAL, GOD IS WANTING THEM TO BELIEVE, IT WAS NOT FOR ME, BUT FOR THEM, BECAUSE HE LOVES THEM LIKE THEY ARE HIS ONLY CHILDREN.  IT WAS A MIRACLE...YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE LOOK ON THEIR FACES, THEY WERE IN AWE, COULD NOT BELIEVE IT, BUT, THEY SAW IT WITH THEIR OWN EYES.
AS YOU MAY OR MAY NOT BE ABLE TO IMAGINE, I FEEL SO BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN TO ME,  THANK YOU GOD, THANK YOU JESUS, THANK YOU HOLY SPIRIT..
IN ACTS CHAPTER 2, VERSE 19, WHICH JUST HAPPENS TO BE MY BIRTHDAY, IT SAYS, "I WILL SHOW WONDERS IN HEAVEN ABOVE, AND  SIGNS IN THE EARTH BENEATH, BLOOD AND FIRE, VAPOR OF SMOKE."
NOW FOR THE OTHER PART OF THIS MIRACLE, THIS PAST WED. NIGHT DEDE AND I WENT TO CHRISTIAN FAMILY CHURCH, A CHURCH WE LIKE TO GO TO ON WED. NIGHTS, PASTOR THEO IS HOLY SPIRIT TEACHER.
THIS PASS WED. HE WAS SPEAKING ON THE  HOLY SPIRIT AND THE (VAPOR OF SMOKE, THE SUPERNATURAL MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE GLORY OF GOD, COMING FROM HEAVEN TO EARTH)...i WAS JUST SITTING LISTENING TO PASTOR THEO AND HEARING HIM CONFIRM WHAT HAD JUST HAPPEN TO ME A FEW DAYS AGO.
AFTER THE SERVICE I WENT UP AND SHARED WITH HIM WHAT HAD HAPPEN TO ME.
HE ASKED TO TO COME AND SHARE THIS WITH IS CHURCH, AND SO, TONIGHT, SAT. FEB. 25, AT 6 PM, I WILL BE SHARING, AND ALSO TOMORROW, SUNDAY, FEB. 26 AT THE 9 AM SERVICE AND THE 11 AM SERVICE.
THANK YOU GOD, WHAT A MIRACLE,
2012, A YEAR OF MIRACLES,
I AM ASKING YOU TO KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS, FOR A SUPERNATURAL MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, THANK YOU.
IN HIS LOVE,
HIS SERVANT, YOUR PRAYER CAPTAIN,
LOUIS V./ MR. V, The prayer captain.

AMY YOU'RE A SAINT

Hi Amy. I'm a ULC ordained minister in South Africa and head up The Divine Light Ministry, which is a multi-faith based ministry. You probably get told this all the time Amy: nevertheless I want you and the rest of the Seminary team to know how important and how valued your weekly e-mails and news letters are. They provide an umbilical cord to those of us who are part of the ULC world wide mother church. They give a very real sense of belonging and connection. Thank you for your ministry and hard work in doing so.

I hereby proclaim you St Amy!
Fondest Regards Rev Dr Peter Jones

A Universal Life Church Minister

Thank you, Amy, for all of the Love, Compassion and Opportunity that you share. Since my ordination on July 2004, I have often maintained an awareness of my obligation to share the same Love and Compassion. During some of the most difficult times in my life and the lives of others, your messages have given me the support to continue forward. I have never "advertised" my ordination to others; I let my behaviors speak of an ordination. On the few occasions when someone has asked if I'm "a minister or Buddhist or something", I've happily mentioned that I am ordained in the Universal Life Church.

Thank you for making that possible.

With great fondness and gratitude,

James S., ULC (July 11, 2004)

Praise for De-Cluttering

Wow Amy!

I watched your Youtube talk about getting rid of "stuff"  It was wonderful to actually see you and listen.

(getting rid of "stuff" has been a long time battle with my wife....) You confirmed my practices on that and many levels)

I want to thank you for making that video, it gave me a chance to see the real you, and you totally impressed me with your passion, poise, eloquence and wonderful personality.

Oh yeah, ridding ourselves of needless junk has been a goal of mine for quite a while, and I'm still fighting my wife with this issue...

At this point, our living spaces are "simplified" (but still need work) But let's not discuss our basement and garage....

Anyway, Thanks Amy!

You're the best,

Rev. Tom

Encouraging Emails

Hello Amy!
Thank you for the encouraging emails you send out from time to time! They are a great positive motivator! I am juggling and shuffling the finances so that I can get moving on the Chaplaincy program....I can't wait! Really excited to get into the great array of classes you offer there! My first wedding performance is May 11th and your book and workbook have really inspired me (and the bride and groom really love the lay out!)!

I really appreciate ULC and the opportunities it has opened up for me in the near future!  Thank you!
Deepest Blessings,
Rich

Kind Words from the ULC

Pastor Amy,
I was in a deep depression awhile ago, worrying about being a certified chaplain, but didn't have the training, I got into a new church, and the pastor there encouraged me to continue renewing my chaplain certification because we would never know when I'd need to use the knowledge.  But, I got some of your KIND WORDS emails, and it gave me a renewing of the spirit. Without those 'KIND WORDS'  i think i would have given up long ago. THANK YOU for the kind words, and keep them coming. they do help (at least for me anyway) to keep that adversary of depression away. When the pastor of the Methodist church I'm attending kept encouraging me to continue with the chaplain certification, and allowed me to be certified in the church to preach when he's away, I decided it was time to make a change when God told me that the church was to be my new home. (at least temporarily).

THANKS AGAIN,
CHAPLAIN RON

*****************************

Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement Amy!  your notes always lift my spirits.

I hope you're feeling blessed and creative - may you have love, good health and abundance of all good things !!!   :)

Much love,

Amy

Doing That Which is Right

Doing That Which is Right.

Well said.

I have never understood those who condemn others, simply because someone does not believe what they believe. It is the cornerstone of all conflict in the world today. God's law, packaged under what ever name you choose, seems unilateral to me. We ought to be kind to each other, we should respect humanity, murder is wrong all universal truths.

It is pretentious of me to try and interpret God's intentions, that universe is far to vast for my mind to comprehend. But I can keep trying to do that which is right.

Thank you. Keep the faith, all faiths.

Postive Words About the ULC

A Review of a ULC Course:
By all means include the review.

Some would disagree and rather speak in more traditional terms such as prayer, penitence, etc.  I am not here to debate that issue. When it comes down to it,. even though the theoretical constructs of the professor may or may not be perfect and pleasing to all taking it, this course provides a way for others to approach this most difficult journey towards spiritual development. More about that  when I finish and further review the course.

Amy..keep up the wonderful work you and Seminary are doing.

Amy,
You must have been in tune with what I was going through. You sent me the email that I needed.

Courses

Hi Rev Amy,
It's still me. I'm studying a lot and researching as a madman to get the most of those 4 courses I am taking and a new world is opening its doors in front of my eyes and I want to thank ULC Seminary again for that. Can I suggest a new course to submit to the program? Well, something on Hinduism. I think that would expand the variety of subjects on the program. But it is just a suggestion. I see you have Buddhism, Wicca, Druidism and as soon as I finish those 4 I will nail those too. I'm so interested on the variety spectrum of all believes since The "Comparative Religion" Master course. And this message is to remind you how amazing you are and how much your doing for us all.
Thank you.

Regards,

A.

Universal Life Church

Amy,

It's really nice, comforting and timely to receive these periodic positive comments from you. Just this morning my computer was experiencing a failure. I tried several things to get it past the boot-up into Windows without success. With patience, I rebooted one more time and was off to the shower. After I finished, my desktop screen was full of all my icons and I was back in operation once again. Apparently my efforts to get it restarted did matter.

Your comments..."All the little things...that I don't think matter...do".

While the above example is not exactly what you meant, here is another.

A church member I drive each week to bible study and church expressed having some financial difficulty. Upon questioning, I took him around to try to get some payment schedule worked out and later to buy groceries for him. This individual is slightly challenged and extremely shy...works for a convenience store on the graveyard shift and has no family with him. He was homeless at one time in his life. His circumstances have beaten him down to a point where he will not engage in conversation nor make eye contact except upon rare occasion.

After working with the State Revenue Dept. and filing his taxes from 2010 for him, tax levies were released and he once again had access to his funds to pay his rent, phone etc. The very next time I picked him up to take him to bible study, he was a different person. He engaged many of us in conversation, he told a joke on himself, he became very much a social butterfly at the potluck afterwards. All in all a different person.

It took about a half day to get all this done for him. But in just that short amount of time, the release of some very heavy burdens opened up to us a personality we did not know we had in our congregation. He is now shadowing me as if I were his big brother just because I performed some "little things" for him.

It doesn't take much...just a few little things...
Blessings,
Bill
